01 / Get your first price glance

From install to menu bar.

  1. Open the app and find its menu-bar item.

    Download HODLTicker from the App Store and open it. Look at the menu bar at the top of your Mac screen. Click the HODLTicker item to open the price and chart view. The app is built around this menu-bar view, so you do not need a large app window open while you work.

  2. Choose the pair you actually follow.

    Click Change in the price view, or the pair name with a down arrow if the coin row is hidden. Search for a pair such as BTCUSDT or ETHUSDT, and select it. If the list only shows your favorites, use Show All Pairs to see other matches. The selection window also has a Done button.

    BTCUSDT means Bitcoin priced in USDT. It is not a bank USD quote. Pick the pair that matches the information you want.

  3. Leave the ticker running during your day.

    Return to your document or other work. Glance at the menu-bar price when you want to check it; click it when you want the chart. To adjust the display, open Settings from the price view, or right-click the menu-bar item and choose Settings…. Price Only is available with Free.

Eligible new installs include a seven-day Premium preview. The preview does not start a subscription. A paid plan is a separate choice; the app shows the available plans and local prices.

Refresh timing depends on your access level, settings, power source and connection. Widgets follow the operating system's schedule and can update less frequently than the open app.

A few quick checks.

I opened HODLTicker. Where is its window?

Look for HODLTicker in the Mac menu bar at the top of the screen and click it. The main price and chart view opens from there. If another app is in full-screen mode and the menu bar is hidden, reveal the menu bar or leave full-screen mode.

I cannot find the pair I want.

Open Change (or the pair-name selector) and try Show All Pairs. Search for a supported pair such as BTCUSDT rather than a currency name alone. Pair availability depends on the market data available to the app.

Why does the price seem slow to update?

Free uses a slower refresh schedule. Premium offers faster refresh options, and battery settings can affect their timing. Open the price view, check your connection and selected pair, and review your refresh settings before assuming the ticker has stopped.

Can I keep using it after the preview?

Yes. When an eligible seven-day Premium preview ends, you can continue with Free. The local preview does not start a subscription. Choose a paid plan separately only if you want Premium.
